In this simulation, learners will learn about the connection between Down syndrome and Alzheimer's and develop a plan for training staff, helping families, and create more inclusive clinical trials.
In this simulation, learners will reflect on their own career interests, explore the field of biofabrication, and learn about the various careers available in this emerging industry.
A modified simulation is a work-based learning experience designed from the ground up for learners who benefit from simpler language, more visual structure, and step-by-step guidance. It covers some of the same topics and professional thinking as a standard simulation, but every piece of it has been adapted so more people can access it fully.
Modified simulations are a good fit for:
Learners who require differentiated and/or modified materials
Younger learners who are new to work-based learning
Anyone who learns better with plain language, pictures, and clear choices
Learners who want more scaffolding before tackling a full simulation
We built it with the people it was made for by running focus groups with learners with disabilities. We listened to what made content confusing, what helped things click, and what meaningful to their own lives and careers. Their feedback shaped the language level, the visual layout, the length, and the kinds of choices we offered with assignments.
